Join us for the next chapter of Casa’s Italian Stories series: a journey through the south of Italy, guided by its drum beats and traditional dances.

Antonio Gomez (Castaldi), a percussionist of Afro-Latin, Mediterranean, and Arabic traditions and member of Trío Guadalevín, will present on the music history and rhythms of Southern Italy. For each tradition we explore together, dancers Francesco Faustino and Kate Causbie will share about their journeys through the dances of the south of Italy, performing arrangements from each tradition. As we go, the audience will be invited to participate and experience the beat to their comfort: listening closely, tapping a foot, clapping hands, or even learning the basic movements to follow the drum.

Admission is free with donations to Casa accepted. Casa Caffe will be open.
